 Description

In my first experience using a plugin (the idea plugin in this case), it wasn't clear to me in reading the docs how to set a property for the plugin.

My confusion was caused by:
a) I couldn't find explicit documentation on how to set a plugin's property. (Maybe it's there, but I couldn't find it.)
b) I used the webApplication/quickstart build.gradle as a starting point, and in there, the properties for the jetty plugin are set at the root level of the file.

I'm guessing others might experience this same confusion, so I suggest adding a touch of clarification about this in the docs.

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub.

We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to.

Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:

  • Checking that your issues contain requisite context, impact, behaviors, and examples as described in our published guidelines.
  • Leave a comment on the JIRA issue or open a new GitHub issue confirming that the above is complete.

We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle!

The DSL guide provides a link to all task types provided by the Jetty plugin (and really any other Gradle core task type). Please see the section "Task types" on the left hand side. If you click on the specific task type you'll all properties and methods you can call e.g. JettyRun.
