Ideally allowing recursion back into the "remapping" process after a remapping occurs. Dangerous for sure do to potential infinite recursions. Perhaps in conjunction with setting a "depth limit"? Use case? Consider a "replacement" remapping that says "javax.transaction:jta:1.1" should be remapped to "org.jboss.javaee:jboss-transaction-api:1.0.2-SNAPSHOT" along with a <dependencyManagement/>-style remapping that says 1.0.3 should always be used for "org.jboss.javaee:jboss-transaction-api". Probably not critical for local builds, but if/when this "remapping info" is ever written to a repo it becomes so imho. |

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub. We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to. Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:
We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle! |

Again, personally something I find worthwhile but that has gotten zero Gradle-team love. Please either reject it and do not migrate or do it |
