The question is why we anyhow ship with a junit.jar. I can't remember why we do this. In the build script a user needs anyhow to specify the junit dependency to be used. So I guess the solution is not to ship a JUnit any longer with the gradle distribution. |

Not shipping JUnit works for me. I can choose my own and I get a small Gradle distro. |
