We're hitting this as well.

I guess there are two possible directions?

1) Make the build script provide two different dependencies, one for compile/runtime and one for generation.

2) Have the ANTLR compilation occur in a different task so that its additional dependencies don't poison our normal compile task. (Could be useful anyway, because then I can turn compiler warnings off only for generated stuff.)

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub.

We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to.
