Description |
The JSR166 code now uses lambda expressions and so requires JDK8 to compile. The JSR166 code has to be compiled with the option -XDignore.symbol.file=true Because there is no way of setting this option with the Gradle compiler, I am having to use compileJava.options.useAnt = true. There is no javac1.8 in Gradle. compileJava.options.useAnt is deprecated. Gradle cannot build JSR166. |

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub. We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to. Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:
We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle! |

You should be able to provide compiler arguments via https://docs.gradle.org/current/javadoc/org/gradle/api/tasks/compile/CompileOptions.html#setCompilerArgs(java.util.List). I am going to resolve this issue. Please open an issue on GitHub if you feel like your use case is not yet fulfilled. |
