When a test JVM gets killed during testing (e.g. because a virtualized environment decides that the process consumes too many resources), the build hangs forever (maybe not always, but certainly sometimes). Originally reported by Costin Leau from SpringSource, who observed this behavior in their virtualized CI environment.
