[GRADLE-2605] Change of platform file encoding does not cause recompile when not using explicit encoding for JavaCompile Created: 19/Dec/12 Updated: 10/Feb/17 Resolved: 10/Feb/17 |

Description |
The problem is that CompileOptions has… /** * Returns the character encoding to be used when reading source files. Defaults to {@code null}, in which * case the platform default encoding will be used. */ @Input @Optional public String getEncoding() { return encoding; } If the platform file encoding changes from one run to the next, “null” will still be used as the tracked input value. Ideally, getEncoding() should not return null but the real encoding but this would be breaking behaviour. Another option would be to introduce a new getEffectiveEncoding() and use this as the @Input. |

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub. We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to. Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:
We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle! |
