[GRADLE-2530] Add support for allowing child processes to inherit the parents stdio (or at least simulating this) Created: 23/Oct/12 Updated: 10/Feb/17 Resolved: 10/Feb/17
When forking a process, it would be nice if that process was free to use terminal escapes and other console tricks.
One option would be to allow the child process to inherit the parent's stdio handles (Java 7 features API for this, would need JNA pre Java 7). Or if possible, to “forward” the control characters on. This latter option might be tricky because we'd have to trick the child process into believing it's attached to a tty.

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub.
We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to.
Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:
We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle!
