 Description   

The use case would be something like this...

Future future = startLongTask()
while (!future.done) {
  logger.partial(".")
}

So while the long running operation is running, you'd get an increasing number of .'s appearing on the same line of the output.

This may not be possible though, if our logging infrastructure is entirely line based.

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub.
