[GRADLE-1460] Need improved error message when trying to set eclipseClasspath when project isn't a java project. Created: 30/Mar/11 Updated: 10/Feb/17 Resolved: 10/Feb/17 |

Description |
If you attempt to use an eclipseClasspath { } section without applying the Java plugin first you get the following error: Cause: Could not find method eclipseClasspath() for arguments [build_354nct9c0s5o7ipqf7snlp06vb$_run_closure2@2507e9a8] on root project 'x' While the error makes sense in the context of what went wrong it's not very helpful to a new user trying to figure out why their build script isn't working. Something like: "Can not specify eclipseClasspath{} because Java plugin as not been applied to this project." Would have been more helpful. |

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub. We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to. Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:
We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle! |
