 Description

As described on the mailing list: http://tinyurl.com/2bu6yn5

I am trying to add a jar file to the ant runtime classpath, but it does not seem like gradle is putting the jar on the classpath.

I am attaching a very simple gradle project. It contains one groovy file and one java file with a short build.gradle. To build this project, run this command:

gradlew -Dbuild.compiler=org.codehaus.groovy.eclipse.ant.GroovyCompilerAdapter compileJava

This should grab the compiler adapter jar from the maven dependencies, add it to the ant runtime classpath, and use the compiler adapter to compile both the groovy file and the java file.

But, unfortunately, I get this:

FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* Where:
Build file '/Users/andrew/NonEclipse/gradle/gradleproject/build.gradle'

* What went wrong:
Execution failed for task ':compileJava'.
Cause: Class not found: org.codehaus.groovy.eclipse.ant.GroovyCompilerAdapter

* Try:
Run with -s or -d option to get more details. Run with -S option to get the full (very verbose) stacktrace.

BUILD FAILED

Total time: 5.236 secs

This problem should be reproducible from the attached project.

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub.

We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to.

Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:

  • Checking that your issues contain requisite context, impact, behaviors, and examples as described in our published guidelines.
  • Leave a comment on the JIRA issue or open a new GitHub issue confirming that the above is complete.

We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle!
