[GRADLE-1086] logging currently disabled for testing custom tasks executed on projects instanced from ProjectBuilder Created: 02/Aug/10 Updated: 10/Feb/17 Resolved: 10/Feb/17 |

Description |
The gist of the problem is that there isn't an easy/documented way to enable test logging when using ProjectBuilder. Tasks that are subsequently executed on dummy projects are assigned NOPLogger which eliminates useful logging. Thus, the developer is blind as to the results of legit logging statements (as granted by inheritance) during tests. Per Adam's response I have a hackish workaround in place by adding the following to build.gradle: testRuntime 'ch.qos.logback:logback-classic:0.9.24@jar' testRuntime 'ch.qos.logback:logback-core:0.9.24@jar' testRuntime "org.slf4j:slf4j-api:1.6.1@jar" and Misha's code from http://gradle.1045684.n5.nabble.com/Feature-request-standard-output-and-error-logging-with-TestNG-td1432775.html#a1432775 Has to be a better way, no? |

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub. We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to. Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:
We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle! |
