I put in an alternative pull request for this a few weeks ago: https://github.com/gradle/gradle/pull/278

As announced on the Gradle blog we are planning to completely migrate issues from JIRA to GitHub.

We intend to prioritize issues that are actionable and impactful while working more closely with the community. Many of our JIRA issues are inactionable or irrelevant. We would like to request your help to ensure we can appropriately prioritize JIRA issues you’ve contributed to.

Please confirm that you still advocate for your JIRA issue before December 10th, 2016 by:

  • Checking that your issues contain requisite context, impact, behaviors, and examples as described in our published guidelines.
  • Leave a comment on the JIRA issue or open a new GitHub issue confirming that the above is complete.

We look forward to collaborating with you more closely on GitHub. Thank you for your contribution to Gradle!

This issue was addressed with this pull request (merged into Gradle 2.3) and can be considered complete: https://github.com/gradle/gradle/pull/278

IMO Antlr support is a mess across the different Antlr versions. Does it work specifically on Antlr3? Maybe. That's the one version I do not use; Hibernate uses 2 and 4, and neither of those work depending on which specific Gradle version is used.

I honestly haven't looked into this in a long time. I added the comment primarily to close this specific JIRA issue when they migrate them to GitHub. I feel like more specific issues (if they exist) can be kept, or new ones can be created.
